Fagal's Poem "Beach Life" featured in Pen Woman magazine

Janet Fagal's poem "Beach Life" is featured in the Summer 2019 issue of Pen Woman magazine. The autobiographical poem was inspired by a painting at found at the Made in New York exhibition in the Schweinfurth Art Gallery in Auburn, New York. The lovely poem brings readers to a moment in the poet's childhood, "the horizon of my childhood golden" and "sundrenched by the sea." Three, CNY Branch Pen Women's Work Chosen for Anthology on Moon Landing's 50th Anniversary

CNY Branch Pen Women make up a good portion of a beautiful new anthology on the subject of the moon and moon landing. A total of twenty-six artists and writers from around the country contributed to this extraordinary anthology. The gorgeous watercolor cover of Lun'Allure: To the Moon...and More is the creation of Joan Applebaum. A nonfiction piece by Judith McGinn appears in the anthology, and both a painting and haiku by Rachael Ikins were selected for this book that commemorates the moon landing on the fifth anniversary of that singular event. Dafoe Poem a Finalist in RHR

Nancy Dafoe's poem "Ekphrastic Apogee" was recently named one of four finalists in the first contest of the journal River Heron Review. Her poem will appear in the August 2019 issue of the literary review with the other finalists. "Ekphrastic Apogee" was inspired by the artwork juried into the Made in New York art exhibition at the Schweinfurth Gallery in Auburn, NY this past spring.

Rachael Ikins' Busy Summer of Production

This summer has seen Rachael Ikins interviewed here and abroad. Not only has her book Eating the Sun launched, but multiple anthologies, to which she was asked to contribute, will also debut, on topics from dogs loved and lost to feminist, survivor, and ecological themes. Ikins' photography has graced two journal covers this July. The online site dontdiepress.com asked her to participate in a paired poets’ book review project. Central New York Branch menbers of the NLAPW created ekphrasitic responses to the "Made in New York" exhibit at the Schweinfurth Art Center on Genesee Street in Auburn, NY. Katie Turner Art Selected for Cazenovia Counterpoint Invitational Art Exhibition

Katie Turner had two paintings selected to appear in the Cazenovia Counterpoint Regional Art Exhibition Invitational in July.
