

CNY Branch Exhibition at the Center for the Arts in Homer
Our CNY Branch of NLAPW opened an exhibition at the Center for the Arts in Homer, New York and held a reception following the opening on June 21, 2019. Our show will run until the end of July on the 28th and is open to the public. Wendy Harris hung the art and arranged the presentation, and Karen Hempson set up all the contacts to make this special event possible for members and the viewing public.
Poet, Mother, Musician, Aviator, Pen Woman Pearl Newton Rook Passes Away
After a life of great adventure, nationally recognized poet Pearl Newton Rook passed away on March 18, 2019, just a few days shy of her 96th birthday. Predeceased by her husband Robert Chittenden in 1945 and husband Douglas Lee Rook in 1995, Pearl also lost her son Douglas, Jr. in 2003. She is survived by her daughters Pamela Martin and Sandra Cruz, thirteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Although her early life came with tragedy, Pearl overcame the sudden loss
