Rachael Ikins' Flurry of Publishing


Rachael Ikins released her full-length poetry collection Just Two Girls, which was nominated for an Independent Book Award in November 2017. One of its poems was nominated by the publisher for a Pushcart prize. A review of Just Two Girls by Treanor Baring appears in the recent issue of the Pen Woman Magazine. Also released was a chapbook For Kate: a love story in four parts. Reviewed by Bear Creek Haiku, For Kate is illustrated by the author with black and white photography. Log Cabin Books recently released Rachael’s illustrated fantasy Totems.

Rachael’s work is also part of the creative non-fiction anthology Before They Were Our Mothers: Before Rosie Started Riveting, a collection of foremother’s true stories spanning mid 1800s-1930s, written by 15 NYS women authors and edited by Journal Arts Press. The New York Times featured a review about this anthology. In addition, Rachael is the featured artist for March at the Eye Studio in E. Syracuse. Reception will include a reading. Rachael is a featured Poet at Word Revisited in Auburn NY, as well as at Rivers End Bookstore in Oswego.
