CNY Branch Supports Everson Museum with "In the Company of Women" Tree

The CNY Branch of the NLAPW created a special holiday tree to commemorate the passage of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution and donated it to the Everson Museum of Art in Downtown Syracuse, NY. "In the Company of Women" tree joined a forest of decorative ones for the Museum's annual Festival of Trees exhibit and fund-raiser. Trees in the festival are bid on and taken home after the exhibit. All money raised in the holiday exhibit goes to the art museum.

The CNY Branch tree had two essential themes: women's right to vote and women artists working together. Branch member Sandy Shutter came up with the design and templates for the decorations that members contributed.

Following a holiday gathering, Pen Women attended the Festival of Trees event, touring the special exhibit placed throughout the museum. CNY Branch members were excited to contribute in this manner to helping maintain our dynamic art museum in the heart of Syracuse.
