Karen Foresti Hempson won an award for her ekphrastic short story "The Perfect Crime," from the Center for the Arts in Homer, N.Y., through the annual Community Arts Challenge. "The Perfect Crime," an interpretation of artist's James Skyarch's charcoal etching, won first place in the prose category of the Arts Challenge this past January 2025.

Rachel Dickinson had a very successful painting exhibition at the Freeville Literary Society in Freeville, NY. The exhibition of her paintings of Freeville houses through history and art was the culmination of a New York State Rural and Traditional Art Fellowship in 2024. Dickinson' art was also selected for the Made in New York juried art show at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, NY. Her art may also be seen at Corners' Gallery in Ithaca, NY.
