Pen Woman Georgia Popoff, along with authors Jackie Warren-Moore, and Omanii Abdullah, received a Poetic Icon Award on October 26, 2018 from Verbal Blend, a spoken-word poetry program coordinated by the Syracuse University Office of Multicultural Affairs within the Division of Enrollment and the Student Experience.

"The award recognizes poets who have been trailblazers with their approach to spoken word poetry and who have made a significant global contribution to poetry through their body of published poems, books, interviews, lectures, performances, articles and writers workshops in universities and communities," according to Verbal Blend.

Popoff's poetry includes chapbooks and books of poetry, including Psalter: The Agnostic's Book of Common Curiosities (Tiger Bark Press, 2015). She has also finalized her sixth book of poetry, Psychometry, which will be released sometime in 2019 from Tiger Bark Press.
